Agristack Project: The Central Government has informed the Parliament that till now, under the Agristack project, identity cards i.e. ‘Farmer ID’ of more than 37.17 lakh farmers have been made. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan gave this information in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha.
Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that the Farmer ID includes useful information related to the demographic details of farmers, land holdings and crops sown. This data helps farmers in digital identification and authentication to avail government schemes, services like loans, insurance and crop procurement. The Agriculture Minister said that till December 11, 2024, a total of 37,17,709 farmer IDs have been created.

The Agriculture Minister also informed that Digital Crop Survey (DCS) has been successfully completed in a total of 436 districts in the Kharif season of 2024. This survey has helped in gathering accurate data of crops.

agreements with states
Minister Shivraj Singh said that at present Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with 22 states and union territories. This MoU ensures the creation and implementation of digital public infrastructure for the agriculture sector. He said that to successfully implement the Agristack project, the government has consulted with states, other stakeholder ministries and financial institutions through various national and regional conferences.
